The Toronto Synchronized Swimming Club is central Toronto's only competitive and recreational synchronized swimming club. It offers a full range of synchronized swimming programmes for girls of all ages from entry-level recreational classes to highly-competitive teams. Based at the University of Toronto's Athletic Centre pool since 1984, the club was originally founded in 1977 as an amalgamation of the Scarborough and Leaside Synchronized Swimming Clubs, each with a history of more than 20 years of competitive and recreational synchro. The TSSC offers recreational programs in the Leaside Pool, as well as at the University of Toronto, and has provided athletes an opportunity to compete at local, regional, provincial, national and international meets. The TSSC acknowledges the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Citizenship, Culture and Recreation. With $100 million in annual funding from the province's charitable gaming initiative, the Foundation provides grants to eligible charitable and not-for-profit organizations in the arts, culture, sports, recreation, environment and social service sectors. |
